Jennifer Fredricks, professor of psychology, has been selected as a consultant for the Departmental Consultant Service (DCS), which provides consulting services to psychology departments across the country through the American Psychological Association Educational Directorate and the Society for the Teaching of Psychology.
Juliana Souza, geosciences technician in the department of geoscience, co-authored “Characterization of the 1966 Camp Century Sub-Glacial Core: A Multiscale Analysis” which was recently published in EGUsphere. The paper presents the first detailed physical properties analysis of the sub-glacial material from the 1966 Camp Century core in Greenland, offering new insights into past ice-sheet behavior and environmental change.
D. Catherine Walker, associate professor of psychology, was just awarded a small 2024-25 Faculty Research Grant from Psi Chi for the proposal, “Extended Reality Body Exposure: A Small Pilot RCT Among College Women with Body Dissatisfaction,” which is being conducted by her, Dr. Shruti Mahajan, Mary H. '80 and Richard K. Templeton '80 Assistant Professor, and students Alissa Tsay '26, Mai Tran '26 and Lauren Leavitt '26.
Carol Weisse, Ronald M. Obenzinger Professor of Psychology/director of health professions along with Mridula Shanker '26 and Jasmine Choi '24 recently had a paper accepted for publication in the American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Medicine entitled "Examining antidepressant discontinuation syndrome (ADS) among hospice patients in the last week of life." Mridula is a student in the Leadership in Medicine Program and Jasmine is a medical student at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, and both worked on the project through their honor's theses in psychology.
James McKee, assistant professor of physics and astronomy, co-authored the paper "Strong-Field Gravity Tests with the Double Pulsar" which has been awarded the 2025 Frontiers of Science Award in the Astrophysics and Cosmology – Theory category.
